MTB through three countries in the Alps
Austria - Switzerland - Italy
Here we offer a multi-day mountain bike tour through the Alps over famous Transalp stages and through three countries. This trip in three countries combines some of the most beautiful stages in the Engadin, the Swiss National Park, the Müstair valley and the MTB mecca of the Vinschgau. On the last day you will experience the breathtaking tunnels and caves of the Uina Schlucht.
Most other organized MTB trips spend the night in the valley, but not if you go with Outdoor Sweden - then you will instead enjoy a fine view during your overnight stays high up in the mountain huts.

The tour starts in the Austrian mountain bike paradise of Ischgl for half a day of technical training where you can enjoy spectacular surroundings at the same time. After that we head off to the cottage in the Swiss Engadin. The tour goes via the Zitser National Park Val Mustair, which is reminiscent of Canada with its coniferous forests. Via Val Mora we drive to the Vinschgau, a well-known area for mountain bikers, where we descend via the Stelvio pass over the Goldsee and the BimBam trail. From here you have a fantastic view of King Ortler.
In order to be able to spend the night in the mountain cabins, we carry our own luggage, which we recommend is as small as possible.
We offer 6 full day tours, where you sit on the bike for about 6 hours to get up about 1000-1500 meters in altitude every day. A rest day is included, but if you don't want to tire yourself from the bike, you can join us on a bike ride to Livigno if desired.
Program:
Day 1
Arrival Ischgl
Day 2
Bikepark Ischgl/Samnaun – Heidelberger Hütte
A training day and arrival at the cabin. Bikepark Ischgl offers the opportunity to focus on the necessary braking and descent techniques that will be needed later. The trails are partly challenging, so practice is necessary for the following days (including the descent of Fiberpass).
Day 3
Heidelberger Hütte – Fimba Pass – Inn Valley (Engadin) – S-charl
Today's ride is mostly uphill to Fimberpass and then followed by a long descent to the Inn.
Day 4
S-charl – Val Müstair – Val Mora – lago di San Giacomo – Rifugio Monte Scale
Over the land rover track to the pass (alms hut offers refreshments). Descent to Val Müstair to Ofenpass over paths. Via path or road to Buffalora. Again through fairly calm ascending terrain to Val Mora. Descent to the reservoirs and along the reservoirs to
refugio by the dam
Day 5
Rest day / tour day from Rif. Monte Skala to Livigno
Day 6
Reef. Monte Scale – Bochetta di Pedonolo & Bochetta di Forcola – Stelvio
Long sustained climb over former military paths (WW1) to 1st Bochetta. From the 2nd Bochetta's path, the tour continues down to the Umbrail pass. Up via the tarmac to the Stelvio.
Day 7
Stelvio – Prad am Stilfers Jochpendel -Schlinga – Sesvenna Hütte
Today we start early and make sure to leave before 9, because later the Goldsee trail closes for mountain bikers. We then cycle a rather demanding part of the trail from Goldsee over the Bimbam trail to Trafoi. We then use the cable car to Furkelhütte and then make our way down to Stilfs Dorf and to Prad on parts of the Waalpaden (sewer canals). From there we take the shuttle up, to get through this rather tough day, but of course you can cycle yourself to Schlinga if you have the energy.
Day 8
Sesvenna Hütte – Uina Schlucht – Inn valley – Samnaun – Ischgl
The last day of the adventure is here and we are approaching the Grand Final with many great memories in our luggage. We cycle through the Uina Schlucht, where the road is partly cut into the rock. After that, there will be a quiet and nice descent to the Inn, then the journey continues via tarmac to Samnaun. From there, a cable car descends through the bike park back to the starting point Ischgl.

After breakfast we say goodbye and it's time to head home.

Tech Level
For mountain bikers with ambition! This tour is for experienced and enthusiastic mountain bikers who want to cycle a multi-day tour through the Alps, without technically demanding descents.
Fitness
Every day we climb 1000-1500m, partly on unpaved mountain roads and partly on tough paths. You can handle the longer steep climbs without long breaks. For this, it is important that you ride your mountain bike regularly. And pre-training is necessary. Distance from 30 – 60 km. Please note: We ride with a packed backpack of 20-25 liters and/or handlebar bag/saddle bag.
Driving technology
You master your mountain bike. You don't have to be a downhill specialist, but you don't mind some narrower root and rocky passages and/or narrow trails. The first day is partly devoted to technique training and tips. The fact that there are sometimes push passages, both shorter and longer, for example to the Fimba pass, which requires about an hour's walk, is also no problem.
The trip will take place with a minimum of 7 participants (max. 12) and our groups consist of both fellow travelers and solo travelers. If you want more specific information about the composition of the group, we can give you more information via email about, for example, ages and number of men, women or solo travelers.
